South Africa is renowned worldwide for the pristine wilderness areas and nature reserves that occur almost everywhere throughout the country, especially those reserves which were established long ago, such as the oldest – the Kruger National Park in Mpumalanga, the Garden Route’s Tsitsikamma National Park and Nature Reserve, and Hluhluwe Game Reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
Delightfully Diverse Accommodation Options Near the Blouberg Nature Reserve
The Blouberg Nature Reserve is not quite as universally known as those mentioned above. In a way, this is actually a really good thing. Peace, tranquillity and nature rule in this wonderful conservation area, which is unspoiled by overdeveloped tourism infrastructure and hordes of noisy visitors.
It is a veritable paradise for people who truly appreciate getting back to the rugged nature and exploring a pristine, unique and ancient southern African wilderness region with cultural and heritage sites, the likes of which aren’t found anywhere else.
The Blouberg Nature Reserve is located in the northern section of Limpopo, South Africa’s most northerly province, which takes its name from the great Limpopo River that flows through this region and beyond. The reserve itself is named after the iconic mountain range of the same name.
When You Need Accommodation Near Blouberg Reserve
When you’re off to explore the Blouberg Reserve and the other natural and cultural treasures of the general area, you need accommodation, since a single day won’t be long enough to immerse yourself in all that makes the Blouberg so special.
This begs the question of where to stay. You may prefer roughing it because you’re an avid outdoorsman/woman who relishes the challenge of doing without laid-on creature comforts, or you insist on your home comforts, if not a bit of downright luxury, at the end of a day in the African wilderness.
