About Us

Makgabeng farm is a family owned agricultural land dating back to 1926. In 2008, the farm was turned into a hospitality venue offering accommodation and leisure to tourists within a serene environment.

ACCOMMODATION, CATERING AND EVENT FACILITIES

Our comfortable accommodation includes ten thatched rooms, a farmhouse, family room and an executive suite that also doubles up as a honeymoon suite. For those travellers willing to do business whilst on holiday, the farm facility has a boardroom with WIFI, computer and printing facilities. Most food served from our dining area is sourced directly from the farm. Our guests undoubtedly receive healthy organic nourishment during their stay. We believe our untampered natural landscape is perfectly suited to add natural aesthetics and ambiance to memorable occasions. Wedding bookings, conferences and selected celebrations are welcome

HERITAGE SITES & ACTIVITIES

We are just near the historical Blouberg mountain and the heritage richness of the Makgabeng Plateu; from these sites guests can (at own leisure) hike, camp, rock climb, bird watch, connect with the villagers and explore rock art created by the ancestors that once resided in our land. The surrounding villages in the area form part of Makgabeng Farm community and operation; together we are a working ecosystem maintaining the area’s land, heritage, and culture as we preserve indigenous knowledge for travellers experiences.

NATURAL WELLNESS & OUTREACH PROGRAMMES

The farm has an abundance of herbs and plants with nutritional value and healing properties, thus making Makgabeng Farm a natural source of wellness. Visitors can amongst others receive health benefits of the farm’s organic produce through the food and aromatherapy massage treatments.  As part of our purpose to promote natural wellness as well as environmental care and awareness, we encourage a dialogue outreach programme with visitors to learn more from each other about sustenance and the earth.

We also work with a local non-government organisation (PEACE FOUNDATION) where we train a group of local women on organic recycling and waste management. A co-operative comprised of 4 women ladies are equipped with knowledge and skills to turn waste into compost that they can use for production. At Makgabeng farm it is our priority to ensure that you have a comfortable, safe and enriching stay that leaves you feeling rejuvenated, enlightened and well.
